Democrats Introduce Bill With Significant Implications for Preparation

Democratic Representative Mike Honda (D-Calif.) and Senator Jack Reed (D-R.I.) have introduced bills intending to reauthorize and make major changes to federal teacher preparation laws, including the reporting requirements, accountability provisions, and TEACH grants. The legislation is introduced just as the U.S. Department of Education is poised to release regulations concerning educator preparation, following a negotiated-rulemaking process that did not go in the direction the USDOE had preferred.  For more information
