Fiscal Cliff Temporarily Avoided

On New Year's Day both the Senate and House passed an abbreviated "fiscal cliff fix" that addresses such issues as income taxes, unemployment insurance, and tax credit.  But the "fiscal cliff fix" also passes the buck to the 113th Congress to address the expiring FY 2013 Continuing Resolution, the debt ceiling and sequestration. There are at least two more rounds to go.

The 113th Congress will be sworn in tomorrow, January 3, 2013.  January through March will be both interesting and challenging for the new Congress.
